Italian text Alma mia dove te ne vai? alma mia chi fuggi tu? Un che adora i tuoi bei rai, ond'il cor ferito fu? Lagrimate, occhi dolente, lagrimate, ella s’en va. Infelici, eccovi spenti, senza i rai di sua beltà. Ne vedrò la man di rose, ch'alla Aurora scorno fà ne le ciglia luminose dove Amor con arco stà. Sentirò ben giù nel seno, foco tal ch'io ne morrò. Lungi apresso ardon’ non meno, quei begl'occhi, e ben lo sò.

English translation My love, where do you go? From whom do you flee? One who loves your bright eyes in his heart has been wounded? Let your tears flow, weeping eyes, when she goes away. Unhappy, you’ve lost it all without her shining beauty. I shall not see her rosy hand, it puts shame to Aurora, nor her bright shining eyes, where Amor stands with his bow. I shall feel deep in tmy breast a fire of which I shall die. Far or near they burn me no less, those beautiful eyes,and I know it well.
