Amor, io son sì lieto,
Quando stretto mi trovo in mille nodi,
ne gl’amorosi nodi,
Ch’altro cor non fu mai del mio più quieto.
O cor felice mio, hor vivi et godi
in tanta libertà non servitute,
Et per nostra salute
Io prego il ciel che mai più non ti snodi.
O pregion dolce, o che dolcezza nova,
S’in le catene libertà si trova!

da ich mich so gebunden fühle in tausend Schlingen,
in den Schlingen der Liebe,
so dass es nie ein anderes Herz gab, das friedvoller war als meines.
O mein glückliches Herz, nun lebe und freue dich
in solcher Freiheit, nicht Knechtschaft,
und zu unserem Heil
bitte ich den Himmel, dass er dich niemals löse.
O süße Knechtschaft, o welch neue Süße,
wenn in den Fesseln sich die Freiheit findet!
