1. Come, Jesus, come!
And bring your people comfort;
 grant us the peace that only you can give.
Open the gates of heav'n and send your Spirit
 to show the way, and in our hearts to live.

2. Make wars to cease.
Let nations dwell together.
 Help us to love, as we ourselves are loved.
Forgive our sins; forget the ways we fail you;
 by your free grace send pardon from above.

3. Come, Jesus, come!
Prepare us to receive you.
 Cleanse our wet eyes, so filled with ageless tears.
By your own advent strengthen and preserve us,
 hope of the earth, eternal as its years.
