The text is from Matthew 8, but Vulpius uses a Latin translation different from the version in the Vulgata.

Latin text Cum descendisset Jesus de monte, secutæ sunt eum turbæ multæ: et ecce, leprosus veniens adorabat eum dicens: Domine, si vis, potes me mundare. Et extendens manum, Jesus tetigit illum, dicens: Volo mundus esto. Et confestim mundata est illius lepra. Cum autem introisset Capernaum, adiit eum Centurio, obsecrans eum et dicens: Domine, famulus meus decumbit domi paralyticus, et graviter torquetur. Et ait Jesus: Ego cum venero medebor illi. Et respondens Centurio dixit: Domine, non sum dignus, ut tectum meum subeas, sed tantum dic verbum, et sanabitur famulus meus. Et dixit Jesus Centurioni: Vade, et quemadmodum credidisti, fiat tibi.

German translation Als Jesus vom Berge herabgestiegen war, folgte ihm eine große Volksschar. Und siehe, da kam ein Aussätziger, fiel vor Ihm nieder und sprach: „Herr, wenn Du willst, kannst Du mich rein machen.“ Da streckte Jesus seine Hand aus, rührte ihn an und sprach: „Ich will, dass du rein seist.“ Und sogleich ward er rein von seinem Aussatz. Als er aber nach Kapernaum gekommen war, trat ein Hauptmann zu ihm und flehte ihn an: „Herr, mein Knecht liegt gelähmt zu Hause und leidet grosse Qual.“ Jesus sprach zu ihm: „Ich werde kommen und ihn heilen.“ Der Hauptmann antwortete: „Herr, ich bin nicht würdig, daß Du eingehest unter mein Dach; aber sprich nur ein Wort, so wird mein Knecht gesund.“ Und Jesus sprach zum Hauptmann: „Geh hin, und wie du geglaubt hast, geschehe es dir.“

English translation When Jesus was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. When Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.
