Der lieblichen Nachtigall
sanfte Töne
trugen die Winde mit sich fort,
als die begierige Seele sich zum Flug erhob
und mit heißen Seufzern
den süßen Klängen folgte
durch unbekannte Gefilde.
Wohle glaubte ich über Euch,
meine Dame, ihren Gesängen,
allerdings, Liebe verströmend,
verwundete sie mit ihrer Stimme mein Herz.

The lovely nightingale’s
mellow sounds
were carried away by the winds,
as the avid soul rose to flight
and with burning sighs
followed the sweet sounds
through unknown realms.
Well I believed, my lady,
its singing about you,
breathing love, however,
it wounded my heart by its voice.
