German text Die Faßnacht ist ein schöne zeit / darinnen seind frölich die leut / doch ist sie kalt von winten / der ein der treibt vil Affenspil / der ander auch darbey sein will / vil narren thut man finden.

English translation Carnival is a fine time, during which people are merry, but cold winds blow then. One does much monkeying, the other one wants to partake, many fools are to be found. Translation by Gerhard Weydt
