Biography
Edward Albert Hanchet, née Hanchett was born in or near Stockholm, New York. After training in music, he traveled and lived in the West, serving as organist in several towns, and teaching music and normals in several places including Kewanee, Illinois; Burlington, Iowa; and Oakley, Kansas. He died in Oakley. His compositions were principally hymns and music for singing schools.
