Alias: Francisco de Penalosa

Life

Born: circa 1470

Died: 1 April 1528

Biography Considered the outstanding Iberian composer of his time, to judge by the number of manuscript sources, Peñalosa was employed at the court of Ferdinand of Aragon 1498-1516, at the papal choir 1517-21, and died in Seville. 6 masses, 6 Magnificats, over 20 motets and a dozen secular songs are known.
