Description:  Titled Advent in 1798. Work is in three sections: (1) Trio for two Trebles and a Bass (could be sung by TTB, SSB, or STB); (2) Duet for two Trebles (TT, SS, or ST); (3) Chorus for Treble-Counter-Tenor-Bass choir, with melody in the Tenor part. Words by Philip Doddridge, published 1755, his Hymn 203, entitled Christ's Message, with seven stanzas. Leach used stanzas 1-5 and 7 in his composition.
