No. Most scores in the database have a standard CPDL copyright license, but some scores which reside on third-party websites have other types of copyrights.

The two other major types of copyrights are:

  • standard personal copyright, where the composer or editor reserves all rights to the music but agrees to allow free download;
  • non-profit copyright, where the composer or editor allows copying and distribution on the condition that the music is only used non-commercially.

Some editors also stipulate that their scores can only be used for religious purposes. Before using a score, please check the specific terms of copyright for that piece.
