Help:How do I report score errors in CPDL editions?

From ChoralWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

CPDL is committed to providing as much information as possible about errors found in its editions. This is an aspect of maintenance and improvement for which any user can make a valuable contribution to the score collection at ChoralWiki simply by reporting errors found in scores. In many cases, once score errors have been reported for a particular edition, the editor has provided a corrected edition or someone else has prepared a new edition correcting such errors.

Reporting score error(s) in a CPDL edition

The procedure for reporting score error(s) in a CPDL edition is a fairly simple two-step process:

  1. Flag the error(s): In the Edition notes section of the page, use the {{ScoreError}} template as follows:
    • Type {{ScoreError}} after '''Edition notes:''' .
    • Click the Save page button to save the edit. In the Edition notes section you will see something like:
    Edition notes: Error.gif Possible error(s) identified. Please specify the score error(s) on the discussion page.
    or, if the discussion page is not empty,
    Edition notes: Error.gif Possible error(s) identified. (See discussion page for full description)
  2. Report the error(s):
    • Click the discussion tab at the top of the page and type in your report of the error(s) found. Sign your report by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end, and Save your edit.
