Organist of the Royal Choral Society at the Hall in London, and Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square (1902-1942).

John Ireland dedicated his Capriciosso for organ (IJI 7) to him.

Received the Lambeth degree of Doctor of Music from the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Lang, in April 1940.
