Latin text 32  Jesu, sole serenior et balsamo suavior, omni dulcore dulcior, prae cunctis amabilior. 33  Cuius amor sic afficit, cuius gustus me reficit, Jesus in quem mens deficit, solus amanti sufficit.

English translation 32  Jesus, brighter than the sun And sweeter than balsam, Sweeter than any other sweet thing, Loveliest of all. 33  He whose love so affects me, whose taste so refreshes me, Jesus, who causes the mind to fail, Him alone I love. Translation by James Gibb
