1  La turturella piange e si lamenta
Della persa compagna cara e mesta
Sola la se ne va per la foresta.

2  Sola la se ne va mesta e pensosa
Pensando sempre del suo caro bene
Che per lei vive in pianti affanni e pene.

3  Se riposa su gli alberi spinosi
Perchè abborisce gli verdi arboscelli
E la chiar'acque e limpidi ruscelli.

4  Così fo io dopo c'haggio perduto
Il mio conforto e il chiaro mio desio
Che vincer mi facea lieto e giulio.
