1  Let us be joyful while life is yet glowing,
Let us not sigh, let us not sigh,
Grief let us drown in the wine that is flowing,
Joy with this life to entwine let us try, .
Of Bacchus and Cupid the gifts let us treasure,
Flora's fair garlands will add to our pleasure.

2  Yes, all your moments with joy be entwining,
Ere they are flown, ere they are flown,
While we enjoy it, life is not declining,
Joy never tells us how old we are grown.
Then close not your hearts, shunning social enjoyment,
Wine, love, and song give us happy employment.
