Description: The first of a sett of magnificates in al the different tones published by Petrus Phalese in "Canticum Beatae Mariae, Quod Magnificat Nvncvpatur, Per octo Musice modos variatum." 1563 This setting in the first tone is for the odd verses. The settings are clearly to be used in their liturgical context where the apropriate antiphone should preaside and follow after the Magnificat.
