Morir può ‘l vostro core,
Ancidetelo pur come vi piace,
Che quant’al trarlo fuore
Del petto mio, se pur vi giacque o giace,
Non averrà come è vostro desio
Ch’ucciso lui debba morir anch’io.

German translation

Euer Herz mag sterben,
tötet es nur, wie es euch gefällt,
denn was das Hervorziehen betrifft
aus meiner Brust, wenn es denn dort lag oder liegt,
so wird es nicht so geschehen, wie es euer Wunsch ist,
denn wäre es tot, dann müsste auch ich sterben.

for, as far as extracting it is concerned,
from my breast, if ever it lay there or still lies,
