Biography

Percy Jackman was born in Bow, London, England. He held organist positions at St. John’s Limehouse; Holy Trinity, Lambeth; New Jerusalem Church, Palace Gardens, Kensington; Bedford Chapel, Bloomsbury; and Stepney Parish Church. He was recognized as composer; teacher if singing, harmonium, piano, and organ; and was a well-known teacher of John Curwen’s Tonic Sol-fa system. He was a contributor to The Bristol Anthem Book. He died in Bath, England. His compositions include anthems, songs, and part-songs.
