Italian text Potrai dunque partire, O mio bramato bene, E qui lasciar mi in dolorose pene? Deh, non mi far morire, Crudel, ma i passi arresta, Quest’è sommo desire, E rivolgi il mio duol in gioia e in festa.

German translation Könntest du fortgehen, o mein ersehntes Heil, und hier mich zurücklassen in schmerzhafter Pein? Ach, lass mich nicht sterben, Grausame, sondern halte an deine Schritte, das ist mein höchstes Sehnen, und verwandle meinen Schmerz in Freude und Fröhlichkeit. Translation by Gerhard Weydt
