French text Original text Pour une las iendure pensant de mieux avoir la chose mest trop dure lon peut aperchevoir le mal en a souffrance le quel me fault souffrir si ie nay allegiance il me fauldra mourir. Modern French Pour une, hélas, j'endure pensant de mieux avoir, la chose m'est trop dure: on peut apercevoir, le mal en a souffrance. Lequel me faut souffrir: si je n'ai allègement, il me faudra mourir.

English translation It is for one, alas, that I should suffer. Having hoped to obtain better, I now endure my hardship and as all can see: the wicked has to suffer to this great extent. Without any solace, only death is left to me.
