First published: 1795 in The American Compiler
Description: Words most by Charles Wesley, 1758, which was a reworking of John Cennick, 1752; and amended by Martin Madan, 1760, and John Rippon, 1787. Holyoke amended the first line, writing "in clouds descending" rather than "with clouds descending."
