Original text and translations

English original text

Sing wee and chaunt it
While love doth graunt it, Fa la la.
Not long youth lasteth,
And old age hasteth.
Now is best leysure
To take our pleasure. Fa la la.

All things invite us
Now to delight us, Fa la la.
Hence care be packing,
No mirth bee lacking!
Let spare no treasure
To live in pleasure. Fa la la.

English.png English text

Sing we and chant it
while love doth grant it,
fa la la, etc.

Not long youth lasteth,
and old age hasteth;
now is best leisure
to take our pleasure,
fa la la, etc.

All things invite us
now to delight us,
fa la la, etc.

Hence, care, be packing!
no mirth be lacking!
Let spare no treasure
to live in pleasure,
fa la la, etc.

German.png German translation

Lasst uns singen,
solange die Liebe es uns erlaubt.
Die Jugend währt nicht lang,
und das Alter kommt schnell,
nun ist die beste Zeit
uns zu vergnügen.

Alles lädt uns ein
uns jetzt zu freuen,
fort, Sorge, pack dich;
Frohsinn soll nicht fehlen;
lasst uns an nichts sparen,
um vergnügt zu leben.

Italian.png Italian translation

Cantiamo e ripetiamolo
finché l'amore lo concede, Fa la la.
non dura a lungo la giovinezza,
e la vecchiaia ha fretta.
Ora è il miglior tempo libero
per prendere il nostro piacere. Fa la la.

Tutte le cose ci invitano
ora a deliziarci, Fa la la.
quindi preoccupiamoci di ammucchiarci,
l'allegria non manca!
Non risparmiate tesori
per vivere nel piacere. Fa la la.
