Dunlap's Creek

This should be called Dunlap's Creek (S. McFarland) and merged with DUNLAP'S CREEK CM. (Freeman Lewis). Notice that the latter has melody in the Tenor, common for music in the days of Freeman Lewis and William Walker. They are clearly the same. In the second edition of The Beauties of Harmony, Lewis attributes the tune to "S. M'Farland" and says "This tune elsewhere called 'Funeral Thought.'" – I have not been able to find it under that name. Does anyone really knows Mr. McFarland's full name, or any biographical details? Also Dunlap's Creek seems to be related to Preston in Holyoke's Columbian Repository of 1803. I will make the changes later. — Barry Johnston (talk) 21:32, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Many thanks, Barry! I look forward to seeing the corrected entry. Andrew SimsAndrew Sims (talk) 07:43, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
