Text in your editions

Hi Tisokuan. Thanks for all of your contributions to CPDL but I'm a little confused - your editions don't seem to contain any text for the singers to sing! Do you expect choirs who download your files to know where to slot the words in? Even in a well known text such as the Kyrie, singers need to know when to begin a repetition of the words and where to place each syllable. I wouldn't go so far as to say that your contributions aren't welcome at CPDL if they don't have the text in them but I hope you agree that this is a fundamental element of any vocal score. --Bobnotts talk 10:45, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Dear Bobnotts

Thank you to see my files. I'm mainly makeing scores for recorder ensemble, therefore seeing some original manuscripts or printings. Making sceres for recorders, I consider practical use, but in case of scoring for vocal, I want to keep original atomosphere. Because these are original vocal warks, not arrangement. So I add the minimum interpretations(for example, not using modern clefs). By the case of Anerio's Manuscript, except for "Kyrie eleyson" at first there is no text, but some directions "ij" for each starting point of syllables. In those days these manuscripts were made for practical use, so singers could sing naturally, also modern singers. Hi again, Shigekazu. Since it's likely that most visitors to you site from CPDL will want to see the choral scores (rather than the instrumental scores), would you mind if CPDL linked here rather than here, for example? If you don't mind, I think this would prevent a lot of confusion when visitors can't find scores with the text in them! Please let me know your answer. You say "my site is mixed instrumental scores and vocal scores, so visitors are confused", aren't you? Oh! sorry, I perfectly misunderstood your meaning. I don't want to change link adress, so I renew more clearly to distinguish with both scores.

Clefs in your editions

Hi Tisokuan. Thank you for producing all of your recent editions and for submitting them to CPDL yourself - it saves the admins a lot of time. However, I would like to make an observation: your most recent edition (and probably others as well) uses "C" clefs for the AAT parts and an unusually placed "F" clef for the bass part. These are antiquated clefs which may still be used by some viola and 'cello players, for example, but which singers will almost certainly not be able to read. May I request that you create alternative editions using the treble "G" clefs and standard bass "F" clef, since this is what 99.9% of singers will expect to see in a score? --Bobnotts talk 11:48, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
