Description: The text comprises the first four stanzas plus the Doxology of J.M. Neale's translation of Urbs beata Jerusalem. The tune is St. Thomas (Wade), after John Francis Wade (1711-1786), as found in Hymns Ancient and Modern (1866), with harmonization attributed to Vincent Francis Novello. The two soprano descants are sung, separately, on stanzas 2 & 3, then together for the final stanza and Doxology.
