Latin text
Sancta Maria, quae Christum peperisti
Virginei sine labe pudoris volve serenos, volve;
Volve oculos illos tuos misericordiae
& pietatis in homines, qui tibi sunt devoti,
Dulcis Virgo Maria.
Tu maris tumidi refulgens Stella,
Tu decus Paradisi, tu rosa vernans
Pudicissima Virgo
Et liquium suave, bonum est te amare,
Quae non sinis perire.
O Virgo benedicta,
duc nos ad gloriam Regni coelestis.
Italian text
Deh! Bella e cara e sì soave un tempo
Cagion del viver mio mentr’ al ciel piacque,
Volgi una volta e volgi,
volgi quelle stell’ amorose come le vidi mai
così tranquille e piene di pietà
prima ch’io muoia, ch’el morir mi sia dolce.
E’ dritt’ e ben che, se mi furo un tempo
Dolci segni di vita
Hor sien di morte quei bell’ occhi amorosi
E quel soave sguardo
Chi mi scorse ad amare mi scorga anco a morire
E chi fu l’alba mia,
del mio cadente dì l’espero hor sia.
Czech translation
Ach! Ty, která jsi mi byla tak
krásným a drahým důvodem k žití,
dokud nebe se na mě smálo,
obrať na mne ještě jednou
své milované hvězdy tak,
jak je ve vzpomínce chovám,
tak nebesky klidné, plné něhy a úcty,
alespoň jednou, abych sladce mohl umírat.
Jestli jednou byly pro mne Tvé oči
sladkým snem života,
budou teď už jen znamením smrti.
Ten něžný a milý pohled,
který mi lásku sliboval,
vede mne najednou smrti vstříc.
Ten samý, který byl
mému dni dříve jitřenkou,
stává se teď večernicí.
