Domine, non sum dignus
ut intres sub tectum meum,
sed tantum dic verbum,
et sanabitur anima mea (puer meus in Byrd's setting).

Miserere mei, quoniam infirmus sum;
sana me, Domine, et sanabor.
English translation
Lord, I am not worthy that
thou shouldest come under my roof:
but speak the word only, and
my soul (my servant in Byrd's setting) shall be healed.

Have mercy on me, for I am weak;
heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed.
