Description: One of Bach's 2 audition pieces for Leipzig, 7 Feb 1723. The first version (in c minor, not requiring oboi d'amore) was written at Cöthen around 1717 and the autograph has "fine" at the end of 3 movements; the chorale was added in 1723 and the parts for colla parte brass date from 1724.
