Aichinger's tombstone in Augsburg Cathedral gives his age as 63. In 1577 he left Regensburg and visited the court at Munich; in 1578 he entered the university at Ingolstadt and befriended a classmate from the Fugger family. After studies with [[Giovanni Gabrieli]] in Venice he became organist at Augsburg's Basilica of St. Ulrich & Afra in 1588, visiting Italy several more times.

Died: 21 January 1628

Biography Aichinger's tombstone in Augsburg Cathedral gives his age as 63. In 1577 he left Regensburg and visited the court at Munich; in 1578 he entered the university at Ingolstadt and befriended a classmate from the Fugger family. After studies with Giovanni Gabrieli in Venice he became organist at Augsburg's Basilica of St. Ulrich & Afra in 1588, visiting Italy several more times.
