Dutch text
's Morgens mag z'eens even neuzen in het grote onderhuis.
Handj' in juffrouws hand heel zoetjes,
Gaan de kleine tappelvoetjes
En de dikke keukenmeid
zegt met gulle vriendlijkheid:
Goejemorgen Marjoleintje
Kom j'eens kijken in de kast,
Wil het kindje een rozijntje,
houd dan goed de trommel vast.
Marjolijntje
O jou kleintje
opgepast.
Als de grote zware deuren van het koetshuis opengaan.
Komt het freuletje heel zachtjes,
Dwingend met haar liefste lachjes,
En de stalknecht tilt haar vlug
op de brede paardenrug
Wees voorzichtig Marjolijntje,
Houd zijn manen stevig vast.
Och wat koddig poppedijntje
op die zware peerdenbast.
Marjolijntje,
Oh, jou kleintje
Opgepast.
English translation
In the morning she may stroll in the large cellar.
Little hand in mamsel's hand
little feet taptap ahead,
and the fat kitchen maid
says with generous kindness:
Good morning Marjolijntje,
have a look in the cupboard.
Would this child like a raisin
then hold on strongly to the box.
Marjolijntje
Oh, you little one
take care!
When the great heavy doors of the coach house open up,
then little damsel comes softly
tempting with her loveliest smiles.
And the stable boy quickly lifts
her on the massive horseback.
Do be careful Marjolijntje
hold on strongly to his mane.
See what amusing little doll
on top of that heavy horse's back.
Marjolijntje
Oh, you little one
take care!
