Died: 23 December 1696

Biography

Also spelt Mayer or Mejer. Born and died in (Schwäbisch) Hall. Composer and publisher. Was appointed Director Musices in Hall in 1679. Acquired valuable rights to salt mining by marriage. Published (pre-1691) a collection of arias, "27 Geist= und Trostreichen […] Neuen und Vortrefflichen Arien, in Fünff Instrumental- und Fünff Vocal-Stimmen", republished in 1691 with numerous additional arias and songs entitled "Geistliche Seelen-Freud".
