Where oh where is joy to be found
The grind of life is taking its toll
To our culture we are shackled and bound
Where are those moments of beauty
For endlessly we strive and strain
Reaching longingly for something much better
Beyond the suffering and the pain
Oh hear our lamentation
There is no music in our heart
We breathe but in and out each day
Life just lived, then we depart.
