d'une dame que iayme fort
ie souffriray maintes douleurs.
Si d'elle nay aultre confort
de la servir fais mon effort
pour acquerir sa bonne grace.
S'ell ne mayme elle a grant tort
car d'aultre aymer je ne pourchasse.

English translation

Alas, if I enjoy no solace
from the lady I so dearly love,
I shall suffer many pains.
If I enjoy no other comfort on her behalf
than putting effort into serving her
to obtain her good humour.
If she does not love me, she is mistaken
since I do not plan on loving any other.
