General Information

Title: Missa annuntiate nobis
Composer: José de Torres

Number of voices: 8vv   Voicing: SSAT.SATB

Genre: SacredMass

Languages: Ancient Greek, Latin
Instruments: two violins, oboe, harp and organ
Published: Not known

Description: An 8 part mass with orchestral accompaniment. It is not clear why it is called "annuntiate nobis". That is a phrase from the plainchant "Quem vidistis pastores", but there is no obvious imitation of that plainchant. The Kyrie, Gloria, Credo and Sanctus of this work have been transcribed. The Agnus Dei will follow, as will the Benedictus, although the latter is probably a later addition by another composer.
