German.png German text

1. Nun komm der Heiden Heiland,
der Jungfrauen Kind erkannt.
Des sich wundert alle Welt,
Gott solch Geburt ihm bestellt.

2. Er ging aus der Kammer sein,
dem königlichen Saal so rein,
Gott von Art und Mensch ein Held
sein’n Weg er zu laufen

3. Sein Lauf kam vom Vater her
und kehrt wieder zum Vater,
hinubter zu der Höll
wieder zu Gottes´Stuhl.

4. Dein’ Krippen glänzt hell und klar,
die Nacht gibt ein neu' Licht dar.
Dunkel muß nicht kommen d'rein,
der Glaub’ bleibt immer im Schein.

5. Lob sei Gott dem Vater g'tan,
Lob sei Gott sein'm ein'gen Sohn,
Lob sei Gott dem Heilgen Geist
immer und in Ewigkeit.

English.png English translation

1. Come now, belovéd Savior,
The child of the Virgin born.
All the world in wonder stands:
God for Him such birth commands

2. His path, from God the Father
Returning to the Father,
Through Hell’s deeps He quickly passed
To the Father’s seat at last.

3. He left His heav'nly mansion,
Left in heav’n His kingly throne,
God by birth, heroic man,
Foll’wing God the Father's plan.

4. Your manger shines clear and bright,
Giving darkness double light.
Darkness shall not win the day.
Faith will drive the dark away.

5. Give praise to God the Father,
Praise to God, His only Son,
Praise the Spirit, one and three,
Now and to eternity,
