Italian text O mio lucente sole, se tu potest’udire de l’aspro tuo partire le dolente parole che mi suonan nel core, il mio grave dolore forsi temprar voresti e non mi lasciaresti.

English translation Oh, source of all the sunshine in my life, if you could hear the dolorous words that resound within my heart at the bitterness of your departure, perhaps you would assuage my sorrow and stay with me.
