Description: First performed 5 October 1734, the anniversary of the election of August III of Saxony as King of Poland. Two movements reappear as parodies: the opening chorus as the Osanna of the Mass in B minor, BWV 232 and the aria Durch die von Eifer entflammeten Waffen as Erleucht auch meine finstre Sinnen, No. 47 in the Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248.
