Italian text Sapet’amanti Per ch’amor è cieco? Perchè mirando fiso Gli occhi sereni di madonna meco Ella co’l suo bel viso E col divin splendore Tols’a lui gli occhi Et a me tols’il core.

English translation Learn, then, lovers, Why is Love blind? Because with me he looked Into the eyes of my Lady; And the beauty of her countenance And her heavenly form Stole away his eyes, As they stole away my heart.
