Description: This tune appears nearly unchanged in Southern Harmony, 1835, p. 38. Words by Isaac Watts, 1719, paraphrase of Psalm 55, Part 1, with ten stanzas. Davisson used the fourth and fifth stanzas of Watts' paraphrase, modifying the last few words of Watts' fifth stanza from "Temptations never come" to "And sorrows never come."
