Description: The text for this motet is a Latin epigram, combined with a German motto, They were used together for instance in a collection of emblems by Magdeburg author Gabriel Rollenhagen in the early 17th century. The Latin epigram is also found among texts ascribed to theologist Philipp Melanchthon.
