Afflitti spirti miei, siate contenti
Che morte ponga fin si longh’ affinni.
E ripensando ai danni
Quest’ assai più che quella vi paventi.
La tolla libertà, la rotta fede,
Che v’ha madonn’ e Amore
I persi giorni e l’hore
Vi son pur tutt’ inanti
Cagion eterna d’angosciosi pianti;
Però siate contenti
Che morte ponga fin ai longhi stenti.
