French text Amour de moy tant bien servy, Au lieu de deve joissance, Que par devoyr ay desservy, S’au labeur on doit recompence; Sans de mieux avoir esperance, Pour guerdon me rend malheureux: O que celuy la est heureux, Qui aymant bien est bien aymay, Que je fuce moyns amoureux, Ou plus mon service estimay.

English translation My love has served me well, Instead of giving [me] pleasure That by seeing her [being] mistreated We must make efforts to compensate [her] There is nothing better than having hope, for rendering me unhappy Oo that he might be happy He who loves is well loved, that I might be less loving, or my service more valued.
