Biography

Polish famous Organist and Composer is born 1914 in Wloclawek in Poland in poor family. After Elementary School at the age of 15 he was sent by local Priest to School of Organists in Przemysl, guided by Salesians, what finished in 1934 and worked as Organist and Chapel Master of Orchestra in Salesian Gymnasium in Ladz. In 1937 he became an Organist and Master of Salesian Organist School in Przemysl. After the II World War he worked as Organist in Tuliszkow, but from 1947 till 1994 he was an Organist of Cathedral in Wloclawek and Conductor of Choir. In 1980 he started to teach in Diocesan Studium of Organists in Wloclawek, where he died on 7th July 1994. Antoni Wierzbicki received the Medal of Honor "Bene Merenti" of Pope John Paul II.
