Biography Draghi was a singer at S Antonio, Padua (soprano 1645, contralto 1648, bass 1649-51) and at Accademia della Morte, Ferrara (1652-57) before settling in Vienna in 1658. Engaged as a bass with the imperial Kapelle, in 1661 he began to work as a librettist, composing his own first opera La Mascherata in 1666 and being appointed Kapellmeister in 1669.
