Description: The inspiration for the text "Child of the Rainbow" came from reading the legend of Kuyichi (the Peruvian god of the rainbow). According to legend, Kuyichi stripped the rainbow of its colors because of all the injustice in the world. The colors would not return until justice had been sufficiently restored. And to appease the god of the rainbow, the Indians in the Andes wear brightly colored ponchos.

Verse:
We've been silent so long,
but now, from afar,
rise and fall of voices reach us.
And although words get lost,
we know,
yes, still, we know it to our cost.

Chorus:
So rush, the candle is burning two-sided!
The gifts of our nature are melting like snow.
The ocean is wide and the tides won't be waiting,
pay heed to the world and its creatures,
expel all the grabbing, expel all the hating,
let the future of the innocents glow.

Verse:
The summer of life only blooms once,
so please, hurry up now, you should leap at the chance
make a man's word as good as his bond.
Let us invite the great animal kingdom for a dance.
It won't take infinity and beyond!

Chorus:
So rush, the candle is burning two-sided!
The gifts of our nature are melting like snow.
The ocean is wide and the tides won't be waiting,
pay heed to the world and its creatures,
expel all the grabbing, expel all the hating,
let the future of the innocents glow.

Verse:
Just look at the child of the rainbow,
despite deepest sorrow, insecure tomorrow,
always reaching out for the sun.
Let rays of light unfurl on a dewful meadow.
Release its poor life from bullets and guns!

Chorus:
So rush, the candle is burning two-sided!
The gifts of our nature are melting like snow.
The ocean is wide and the tides won't be waiting,
pay heed to the world and its creatures,
expel all the grabbing, expel all the hating,
let the future of the innocents glow.
