Jésu nóstra redémptio.

Per felíces cicatríces,
Spúta, flagélla, vérbera,
Nóbis gráta sint coláta
Aetérna Chrísti múnera.

Nóstrum tángat cor ut plángat
Tuórum sánguis vúlnerum,
In quo tóti súmus laéti
Cónditor álme síderum.

Passiónis túae dónis,
Salvátor, nos inébria:
Ac étiam dáre vélis.
Beáta nóbis gáudia. Amen.

Christ the guide, who through the cross
Redeemed us from our enemies,
May our joyful assembly praise;
May heaven exult with praises.

May the strong punishment of your death
And shedding of blood
Subdue hearts to seek you,
O Jesus our redemption.

Through fortunate wounds,
Spit, whips, lashings,
May pleasing to us and purified be
Christ's everlasting gifts.

May it touch our hearts to lament,
The blood of your wounds,
In which we utterly rejoice,
O loving creator of the stars.

With the gifts of your suffering,
Savior, enebriate us,
And may you also wish to give
Blessed joys to us. Amen.

English.png English translation

Our joyous assemblage renders praise
to Christ the King,
who on the cross saved us from the foe;
the heavens resound with praises.

May the great pain of thy death
and the shedding of thy blood
visit our hearts so that they seek thee,
Jesus, our Redemption.

Through the fortunate scars,
the spittle, scourgings, and blows,
the eternal gifts of Christ
were favorably granted to us.

May He touch our hearts that they may lament
the blood of his wounds,
through which we have all been made joyful,
kind Creator of the stars.

With the gifts of thy Passion
intoxicate us, O Savior:
give us thy bitterness
as our blessed joy.
