English text
Winter’s cruel reign is over,
Vernal airs blow soft again;
Blackbird, skylark, thrush and plover,
Join and swell this merry strain.
La la la la la la la la la.
Messengers of spring are flying,
Far from regions o’er the sea;
Voice to voice its welcome crying
Raise the song of tuneful glee.
La la la la la la la la la.
Sheep and kine, their stalls forsaking.
Snuff with joy the breath of Spring;
While the voice of nature waking,
Makes the echoing woodlands ring.
La la la la la la la la la.
