Latin text Ecce tu pulchra es, amica mea! ecce tu pulchra es! Oculi tui columbarum. Ecce tu pulcher es, dilecte mi, et decorus! Lectulus noster floridus, Tecta domorum nostrarum cedrina, Laquearia nostra cipresina. Ego flos campi, Et lilium convalium. Sicut lilium inter spinas, Sic amica mea inter filias. Introduxit me rex in cubiculum suum, Ordinavit in me caritatem. Fulcite me floribus, Stipate me malis, Quia amore langueo.

English translation Behold, you are beautiful, my love! behold, you are beautiful! Your eyes are of doves. Behold, you are handsome, my beloved, and comely. Our bed is adorned with flowers, the beams of our house are of cedar, our ceiling is made of cypress. I am a flower in the field, and a lily of the valley. As a lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. The king led me into his chamber, he made love to me. Adorn me with flowers, sustain me with apples, for I am sick with love.
