Eins bitte ich vom Herren, das hätte ich gern,
dass ich im Hause des Herrn möge bleiben mein Lebelang
zu schauen die schönen Gottesdienst des Herren und seinen Tempel zu besuchen.

English translation

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after;
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to seek him in his temple.
