Life

Born: unknown, at Noyon

Died: late December 1573

Biography Lebel started his career in Rome at S. Maria Maggiore, probably directing the young Palestrina. He became maestro di cappella at S. Luigi dei Francesi in 1545 and sang in the papal choir 1561-65. A Requiem was sung for him on 4 March 1574. 3 compositions survive.
